I almost always find McFadden's books to be well developed with a complete out of left field twist at the end. This time around I came away somewhat disappointed. The story stressed me out something fierce, which isn't neceoa bad thing, but I want it to all come together in the end. And with this #audiobook, I didn't even like the ending. Some of the twist I was down for; however, the actual ending itself seemed contrived and irritating. 3.5 ⭐

This was a quick listen! The narrator did a great job! It has the typical twists & turns you come to expect from McFadden. I didn‘t really know what to expect until right before the epilogue. Monica offers to be a surrogate for Abby Adler & her husband but what are her true intentions? I‘d recommend if you have liked McFadden‘s other thrillers!

This was so bad it was good. It's exactly like those Lifetime movies where everyone is crazy and there's a lot of screaming and accusations getting thrown around. Just look at the cover. Maybe it actually is a Lifetime movie.
If you need a very easy book to read at the end of those days that your brain is fried, this fits the bill. Entertaining and not very long. Not my fav of Frieda McFadden's but I'll give it 4 stars.

thegirlwiththelibrarybag I love so bad it‘s good as a description. My favourite genre of movies tbh 🤣😉 was it well executed? No - but I had an absolute blast! 6mo

Loved it! Abby and Sam have infertility issues and after a failed adoption, Abby‘s assistant Monica volunteers to be their surrogate. But Monica has ulterior motives no one saw coming. This one reads like a movie and I couldn‘t put it down until I figured out how it was going to end! I actually felt my heart thumping a few times!

Abby really wants a baby but after years of failed infertility treatments and adoptions that have fallen through, it seems like motherhood is not in her future. That is, until her personal assistant Monica makes a generous offer that will make all of Abby's dreams come true. Or all of her nightmares. Because it turns out Monica isn't who she says she is.

EadieB The woman now carrying Abby's child has dark, twisted secrets. And she will stop at nothing to get what she wants. This was a fun and fast-paced entertaining read that had twists and turns at every corner of the book. It kept me reading to the very surprise ending. Freida McFadden is a great writer of psychological suspense and if you like suspense with your thrillers than you will love this book! 1y

I had this one figured almost all the way out on who was behind it all, but just still off a little! Still a super good read, Freida never disappoints!
