Even a small slip of the tongue can convert “we need more firewood” to “take off your clothes.” In fact, I learned that the mystical word Puhpowee is used not only for mushrooms, but also certain other shafts that rise mysteriously in the night.

I love the essay about Honorable Harvest, which is also in the full length book Braiding Sweetgrass by this author. It‘s a concept I‘m happy to be reminded about repeatedly, and I enjoyed the other two essays in this cute little book.
I‘m kind of in love with my Christmas Cactus, which I just got a couple weeks ago. What beautiful blooms!
