Short take: Most of the book is traumatic, mean, and painful. As things started to resolve toward end, not bad.

The Beach Trap is a sweet “chick lit” book about two women who have to deal with a lot of pain, betrayal, heartbreak, confusion and disappointment because of what their parents chose. And it takes them a while to work through those difficult, longstanding emotions to find the sweetness in the gift they have: each other. Romance for both is a nice part of the story, and so there‘s plenty to love in the ways things get wrapped up by the end.
I received The Beach Trap in my Authentic Books box. It was inspired by The Parent Trap, and I definitely felt that vibe. I read it while on vacation in Florida this week, and it was a perfect time and location. This is a fun summer read with strong character growth and just the right amount of romance.
I was instantly drawn in by the reverse friends to enemies at summer camp plot (I'm a huge Parent Trap fan) so I feel like the modern spin on finding out your best friend is your sister is a trope that hasn't been exhausted just yet. It's modern and fun. Yes there is romance but it's second to the sisters trying to be friends in a very tense situation after their dad dies. Solid 4 stars for me.

This was a nice light-hearted beach read with a hint of “The Parent Trap”. I connected more with Blake and her story, but ended up liking both sisters by the end. I also really want to try a peanut butter and brown sugar sandwich now! 🎧
Mostly light & fun & unrealistic but good summer reading with a couple of cute little romance side plots in addition to the main story.

This is a fantastic beach read. It has lots of angles and back story and the character development is awesome. I hated one of the characters for most of the book, though I grew to really get her and gasp...even like her as much as the other protagonist.
This one should make it to your summer reading list.
“THE BEACH TRAP has all the ingredients for a quintessential summer read: a charming beach town setting, family drama, a dash of romance, and an HGTV-worthy plot.”
