Once Upon A Time, there was a wicked girl. She lost everything that mattered, causing darkness to unfurl.Impulsive and intelligent, she helped her family name grow strong. But then one day a man without a heart came along. An undercover agent, meant to spy and bring back tips.Following down her hidden path of faded yellow bricks. She hated him, he wanted her;she was too good to be true. But a woman can be great...and terrible too.** Wretched is a dark, contemporary romance (not fantasy or a retelling) and the third complete standalone in The Never After Series: A collection of fractured fairy tales inspired by our favorite villains. It features mature themes and content that may not be suitable for all readers. READER DISCRETION IS ADVISED.*

A reimagining of Wizard Of Oz. Evelina‘s trying to find her sister‘s killer as she works as her father‘s secret weapon. She has a 1-night stand w/ Nicholas, who‘s an undercover trying to take down her family‘s drug trade. How will they hide their attraction to each other & Nick‘s secret?

I really enjoyed this. It had a good amount of spice & story. I liked the characters. The only thing was I wasn‘t too familiar w/ the WoO universe so I got lost.

Wasn‘t sure I‘d like this one since it‘s a dark retelling of The Wizard if Oz but I really did!

The Mob, sibling rivalry, drugs, DEA and FBI, a twisted sister with a dormant soft side, poetry, steamy times, and a greenhouse. This is a rare smut book that neatly blends story with…well…smut. I have read all the other books from this series, putting this one off for last due to not being that into OZ and such. But this one was good! If you are not into sexy story-time, it‘s all good! But if you ARE into it, then dive in. It‘s a fun read!

This one was okay, but not great. It wasn‘t written as well as the others. Besides the “passionate encounters”, it was kind of dull. #SeriesLove2024 @TheSpineView @Andrew65

TheSpineView How disappointing. May the next be better! 7mo

From BookTok sensation Emily McIntire comes a dark and delicious fractured fairy tale reimagining of The Wizard of Oz.

This was such a great twist - the female character is the morally grey villain.
Wicked is my favourite musical ever, and I loved the little snipets you got from Wicked and The Wizard of Oz.
I didn't enjoy it as much as "Hooked," but I still liked it all the same. A firm 3.5 stars.

This might be my favorite of the series so far! Which is really saying something considering I've been completely obsessed with them all. Each "fractured fairytale" stands alone, and all have their own extreme levels of ? and violence, but this "Wizard of Oz" inspired tale featuring an anti-HEROINE had me SHOOKETH. So friggin good, I can't even deal ?

JamieArc Which is the first in the series? Does order matter? 2y
swishandflick @JamieArc No characters overlap, so order doesn't really matter! They're all a villian based spin on a different fairy tale. But the first is Hooked (a Hook/Wendy story) and it definitely got me "hooked", haha (edited) 2y

Oh how I love how she writers the anti-hero or on this case anti-heroine. This is a twisted retelling of The Wizard of Oz one of my least favorite story/movie. EVER! But I loved this book so there you go. #springread #romantsy
