Pickpick

This was not on my radar at all. A kid at work nominated it for book club. It centers around the art world and it's very good. I would read more by this author.

Unfortunately half of these characters (the women) compelled me and the other half (the men) didn't. These days an author would have to do some pretty extraordinary character work to make me care about cishet white men. This is despite lovely, smart writing, especially about making art and the art world. I was also interested in Angress's characterization of the different desires for genders that Louisa and Karina felt as bi women. 🤷‍♀️

Currently reading this ARC about art and money and self set at the beginning of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Love all the art descriptions and personal dramas
