Blackthorn's Protection Magic
Blackthorn's Protection Magic: A Witch's Guide to Mental and Physical Self-Defense | Amy Blackthorn
2 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
A hands-on guide to protection magic using essential oils, incense, spells, and potions from a beloved and trusted authority. Blackthorns Protection Magic guides readers through the realm of the green witch to a glade filled with options for your protection. Amy Blackthorn discusses spiritual, emotional, and physical security in an easy-to-understand way. The book provides an overview of what protection means to witches and then explores practices in more depth, including: Essential oils for protection magic The role plant allies play in both protecting and healing What astrology and tarot teach us about our strengths and weaknesses Oracle spell work as a potent source of protection As a witch who has worked in executive security for nearly fifteen years, Amy possesses the botanical spirit of an animist witch, able to see the inherent spirit in plants, as well as a keen eye on ways to make a home feel safer and more secure, on the magical and the mundane levels. For example, holly trees provide magical protection from lightning, but also make a prickly barrier outside the home to keep burglars from lurking in the shadows.

Just started the tagged book and already loving the section on self defense. Mundane protection magic ✨ lots of excellent advice— did you know you really shouldn‘t wrap your key ring around your fingers?

Also, finished the library wrap by two of wands! It‘s definitely not right— I dropped a lot of stitches so it‘s much, much shorter than intended! Still, it feels right for me. And I can always try again! #hookersoflitsy #knitsy

Meshell1313 Ooh good advice and so pretty!! 😍😍😍🙌🙌👍🏻 13mo
Clare-Dragonfly I‘ve heard good things about this book—glad to have your positive review so far as well! And I love your necklace! 13mo
StaceGhost @Clare-Dragonfly thank you! My friend Jeannie makes gorgeous jewelry and I was lucky to snag this piece. I have another really elaborate necklace with moon phases and antlers she made as well! 13mo

StaceGhost @Meshell1313 thanks! I was shocked but it made so much sense when she explained it: if you hit with your key ring you could break your fingers, so you really only get one shot. Totally logical 13mo
dabbe Lovely! 💙💚💙 13mo
StaceGhost @dabbe thanks! I love a project where even the mistake turns out great 13mo
dabbe @StaceGhost The Navajos purposefully leave a mistake in their rug-making because they believe no human can ever achieve perfection. Your project is beautiful. 🤩 13mo
StaceGhost @dabbe that‘s so beautiful ❤️🙏🏻 13mo

Choosing to interpret the 2 of ☕️ as another sign for pursuing self-love, healing an internal disharmony, especially considering it‘s placement alongside the 9 of ⚔️. Therefore yesterday‘s book is a little of both: protect yourself & prepare for external conflict if necessary! #tarottakeover
