Mehso-so

Can I do 🤷🏼‍♀️ as my rating for this one? I‘m not sure I know what just happened. It wasn‘t terrible, but it wasn‘t all that memorable either. Have they figured out what the shadow things are yet? It‘s like they don‘t even care anymore. There was a blurring between the Omega and Lash in this one. I heard way more than I wanted to about one or the other of their genitals. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

GingerAntics Lash is the happily ever after for this demon chick? The immortal count is now up to 3. I am genuinely confused about what happened here. I think she‘s written about 5 books too many of this series. Hopefully Lassiter‘s book course corrects. I‘m giving this a VERY. GENEROUS. so-so. It‘s between a so-so and a pan for me. This whole thing has really deteriorated. #jrward #BlackDaggerBrotherhood #LoverArisen (edited) 2y
CoverToCoverGirl I couldn‘t agree more, just finished 🤷🏼‍♀️ this could have be delivered as a short story. Instead she decided to make a short story way to long and she went off a cliff too boot! SO disappointed. I‘m hoping Lassiter‘s will be a course corrector too.🤞 She is stretching herself WAY too thin and the BDB has been seriously suffering. 2y
GingerAntics @CoverToCoverGirl it really has! I love these characters, but I‘m not sure she does anymore. It‘s very confusing. 2y

julesG Do I want to know how to pronounce the name? Silent D because of the H or hard D (hence T) because of the H? 2y
GingerAntics @julesG Dunid. It‘s retry straight forward, actually. 2y
julesG Darn! I was hoping for something weird. 2y
GingerAntics @julesG sorry. This word for hell suddenly came out of nowhere few books back… along with the overuse of the word “natch.” 2y

I think I‘m over this series. I started it years ago when the first book came out. I remember buying it at the Rammstein AFB BX when we lived in Belgium. I‘m getting to the point I just don‘t care. There is so much pop culture references and total lack of solid plot line and trying to keep characters straight is now requiring a cheat sheet I‘m not interested in writing 🙄. #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks I have several series that I have thought about starting and then realized how involved and complicated they are and just haven't bothered - I do enjoy long series, but also feel like sometimes authors just need to start something new!! 2y
KristiAhlers @TheAromaofBooks this is exactly how I feel. I loved her Bourbon Kings series but this one has run it‘s course for me about 7 books ago. I‘m gonna give myself permission to tap out. 2y
CoverToCoverGirl I haven‘t decided to give up on it yet but I sometimes feel like I‘m leaning that way. 2y

KristiAhlers @CoverToCoverGirl totally get it. I guess for me the last two books just didn‘t resonate and I wasn‘t waiting for the new release and dropping everything else to read it like I did before. 2y
GingerAntics @CoverToCoverGirl I‘m in the same place. I want to read Lassiter‘s books when it comes out next year, but I‘m not sure I‘m going to be going beyond that. I think Ward needs to let this series comes to a conclusion… but it sounds like she has no plans to ever end it as long as her publishers will release them. 2y
KristiAhlers @GingerAntics yeah I was hoping his book would‘ve been this book. But you‘re right, as long as they will publish it she‘s set as far as world building and characters. 2y
GingerAntics @KristiAhlers it‘s getting ugly… but she‘s not clarifying where she needs to. Are they still trying to figure out what the shadows are? What are they fighting, exactly? Are we stuck hearing about this book forever? Can she just possess the brotherhood at will? (edited) 2y
CoverToCoverGirl @GingerAntics agreed! It‘s like she has lost direction and is just winging it herself. It pains me to say it but it feels like the BDB series is losing or already has lost it‘s magic. I still haven‘t read this one because I don‘t want to be disappointed again. (edited) 2y
KristiAhlers @CoverToCoverGirl totally avoid it then. It was like she was trying to cram too many ideas to make the story work but didn‘t pick up the threads from previous books. In other words she‘s forgetting the rules of her own creation. Sigh it‘s sad really. 2y
GingerAntics @CoverToCoverGirl pass on this one then. I kind of want to use 🤷🏼‍♀️ as my rating. So confused. 2y

This is the last book currently available in the series. I‘m certainly hoping it‘s more organised than the last one and has less pop culture call outs than the last two. Bal played quite a big role in the last book, so it will be interesting to dig into his story a little more.

GingerAntics No matter what goes down with this book, Ward will get me for one more book at least because the next book is all about Lassiter (and I‘m guessing Rahvyn) and who doesn‘t want more of that lunatic?! 2y

⭐️. Here‘s the thing: we are 20 books into this series, around 40ish, if you count the side series, and we are going back to characters that ‘died‘ in the beginning? I thought we were moving forward but we just took a giant step back, and this far into the series, things need to be dealt with. I skimmed the last 100 pages, and really, I probably wouldn‘t have missed much if I DNF‘d it. I‘m sticking around for Lassiter‘s book. After that? 🤷‍♀️

StellaDz @CoverToCoverGirl I hope you get more out of it than I did! 🤞 3y
sprainedbrain I got through book 12, but haven‘t kept up in the last 8 years. 😬 3y
StellaDz @sprainedbrain this book just hit me as a big NOPE. Issues were probably piling up, but I was still able to enjoy them… now with this major step back, I feel like readers are alone in a paddling boat just circling… never ending. 3y
GingerAntics I had the exact same thought after finished Lover Unveiled. She‘s got me through Lassiter‘s book, but after that, we‘ll see. 2y

This book is kind of killing me ( @CoverToCoverGirl if I don‘t make it, please let me know if I missed something grand). I don‘t know if this is still the book burnout (still only managing audiobooks and graphic novels) or a Ward burnout…. So I‘m trying some visual stimulus with my favourite Attack on Titan character: Levi. ❤️❤️

CoverToCoverGirl Oh dear! I‘m unhappy to hear that. I‘m most invested in The Brotherhood series but I‘ve not been entirely satisfied with a couple of her latest offerings. Hoping to start this one very soon. 3y

I‘m hesitant to read this one, but I do need some Ward in my life! I‘m hoping, based on a reappearance, that the story doesn‘t get repetitive but we shall see how this goes! #currentlyreading

CoverToCoverGirl I‘m anticipating your review. My copy is sitting on my bookshelf waiting for me to crack it open. I‘m not quite ready to yet.. anticipation is a wonderful thing. 🖤🗡🧛‍♂️ 3y
StellaDz @CoverToCoverGirl I think I‘m more excited for the next book, now that I know who it is 🤣 it‘s already trumped this one, and I‘ve just started it 😅 3y
CoverToCoverGirl @StellaDz he‘s one naughty angel, and we‘ve been waiting a long time for his story. 3y
