Other Witting books have stood the test of time but I don't think he pulls this one off. The first 18% is one big infodump. Then there is a dramatic twist midway which forces a change of jockeys that I found disconcerting. About 90% of the book is setting up one reason for the murder. Then the murderer reveal fell flat for me.
