The story doesn‘t not play (ha!) out as expected, compete with a shocking twist.

mabell @LeahBergen I‘ve read two so far, and enjoyed them (the humor is great!) I will say, and I can‘t put my finger on why exactly, that they aren‘t my favorite mysteries. 🤷‍♀️ 11mo

Measure for Murder | Clifford Witting

Other Witting books have stood the test of time but I don't think he pulls this one off. The first 18% is one big infodump. Then there is a dramatic twist midway which forces a change of jockeys that I found disconcerting. About 90% of the book is setting up one reason for the murder. Then the murderer reveal fell flat for me.
