4-5-22: My 42nd finished book of 2022! Laguna Beach, California, 1968. 16 year old Matt Anthony lives with his stoned Mom and sister, while his brother is fighting in Vietnam. When his sister, Jasmine, goes missing Matt must figure out a way to make the cops believe she isn‘t just another hippie runaway. LSD, Timothy Leary and cast of eccentric characters play a big role in this coming of age novel. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣4️⃣2️⃣

A realistic look at a teenage boy's life & his search for his missing sister
An agonizing slow trip through the late ‘60s
Hippies, acid trips & missing girls
Bad parenting
Light mystery & suspense
😏I wanted to love this, but I didn‘t quite get there. Although, it could have been a tad shorter because it seriously felt like it took forever to get to the end of the story. That Cover though…it‘s a work of art.

Mehso-so

It‘s 1968 in Laguna Beach, California; you know, peace, love and LSD. Kids are going there in search of good times and enlightenment. Matt is 16-years-old and has a deadbeat dad and a drugged up mom. Hippie girls start showing up dead on the beach. Matt can only hope one of them will not be his missing sister, Jazz. I liked this crime thriller which was the first book I‘ve read from this author.

TheBookHippie I love the cover. 3y
tokorowilliamwallace I've only experienced the author by library CD audiobook on drives in the car. I'd have to see how I like his work in writing eventually; this sounds like it might make a good candidate. 3y
suvata @TheBookHippie Yes, it‘s a good example of 60s pop art 3y
