This was an enjoyable read, but I think I enjoyed the first one more. An interesting Murder mystery, with some good twists and characters, I did guess the killer, but not quite how that person committed the murder. Wish they would stop talking about alcoholism, played up too much in the books. We get the message and the demons that one character is fighting. Despite this I look forward to the next one.

2nd book in this series. I enjoyed this book but thought it was a bit dragged out. I‘m wondering if the author is a recovering alcoholic as he sure likes writing about his characters‘ drink problems. Delved a bit into Nick‘s background & relationship with his father which seems to be the root of his drink problem. Ruth is still looking for Sarah but in new relationship.

EadieB This book is my #BookSpin for January. 3y
Andrew65 I wondered about the author too. A good review. 3y
EadieB @Andrew65 Thanks! He just seems to be focused on that issue! (edited) 3y

Pickpick

Hmm… in between pick and so-so. I like the main storyline, the team, and I want to know what happened to Sarah. But… all the drinking and smoking is annoying me very much. I also felt this book was too cluttered. There was simply too much going on. Less is more! One of the plots is pretty much from the film ‘Primal Fear‘. The writing is good, and I will continue reading the series, but hoping to see some improvements.

eanderson Oh boy. Good to now that a couple of the annoyances I had with the first one show up in this book. I‘m going to start it soon! 3y
EadieB @Tove_Reads @eanderson Starting this today. Hope they do start to get better in the next one! 3y
Andrew65 Due to work I am yet to start this. Sounds a bit disappointing. 3y
Tove_Reads @eanderson @EadieB @Andrew65 I probably sounded very harsh, but seriously, shouldn‘t editors work this kinks out? I loved to learn a lot more about Nick‘s background, but I still don‘t get why his drinking takes up so much space. We know alcoholics drink, it‘s not exactly news. 3y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads Totally agree. 3y
