I forgot to take a picture of the rice tart from DUTCH FEAST before everybody started eating it. Oops. It was popular at today‘s delayed Sinterklaas celebration, but I don‘t think I‘d make it again on my own account. The thin layer of jam between the rice pudding custard filling and the whipped cream topping was my favourite bit.
I made my first recipe from Emily Wight‘s intriguing cookbook, DUTCH FEAST. Dutch cuisine is way more varied and interesting than my grandmother led me to believe! I want to try a whole bunch of these dishes, but I started with Caribbean macaroons because they‘re perfect for our delayed Sinterklaas celebration this weekend.
