The main character was a bit too cynical for my taste. I was hoping for a better character arc. It was just ok.

August TBR! I want to catch up on ARCs and BOTM picks, as well as finish some current reads.
I wanted to love this more than I did. I think the biggest problems with this book revolve around the characters. Violet is completely unlikeable and the romance with her and Cyrus seems like it was an extra addition that wasn't completely fleshed out. The use of fairy tales was clever and I am curious to see where it goes so not a complete disappointment. #pop23 #readyourtbr #readyourshelves
Unfortunately I didn‘t love this angsty, light on plot, enemies to lovers (or more accurately two teens in love with each other & just too afraid to say the quiet part out loud), YA fantasy. A lot of that stems from the main character who simply wasn‘t as interesting or well-drawn as the author likely hoped. She also had some annoying ways of talking impossible to overlook. Not the worst ever but it really didn‘t hold my attention.
Sometimes you wake up very early in the morning. I mean REALLY early in the morning (3am early). And while some might consider this to be a bad thing, I prefer to think of it as bonus reading time… So, I‘m going to spend my very early morning with this one.

Phoenix skyline and book review! I really enjoyed this one. A penniless, nameless girl becomes Seer to the King. She‘s enjoying the privileges and trying to twist her visions to fit the King‘s demands- one of which involves finding his son the Prince a wifey to break the curse on his kingdom. Right up my alley! ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 stars! Ahh! Almost forgot this was my #TBRtarot book-4th from the left! @CBee
Speed-read this one. I enjoyed this story, even though I was not a huge fan of some of the ending. But I am interested to see where book 2 leads.
If you like your fairytale dark with suspense and a splash of romance you will enjoy this book. I have to say I picked it up on a lark and I‘m really glad I did. Solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read. #scaralthon #TeamMonsterMash @StayCurious
This book is like a dark fairy tale. It is full of suspense, magic and dark prophecies. Perfect for fans of The Bear and the Nightingale. 4⭐️
My full review is now on my book blog at www.TheSpineView.com
This was such a good read!! Really enjoyed the dialogue and the world was nice and dark, just the way I like it. My favorite character, aside from Violet, was Dante, my gay child who I need more of bc his words are golden! A really good retelling w morally grey characters, corrupting ship dynamic, and angry passion #augustArc #fantasy #20in4

I have so many other books to read before this came but it was so pretty I couldn‘t resist! A morally gray seer, Violet, has had to lie about her visions to keep the kingdom at peace, but things take a dark turn when she learns either she or the prince will die before Summer‘s end. She finds Prince Cyrus two faced and nauseatingly charming, but his temper is a good match for hers in a battle of wits. Hate can be similar to love, after all…
A fairytale for a morally grey “witch“ and a prince not-so-charming. Violet isn't your typical princess that is innocent and naive. She's a seer, a prophet that advises the kingdom on what to do. But Violet's also a liar, twisting her visions with so many lies that the truth is barely there. The banter between her and the prince? Phenomenal. Their story? The very opposite of a typical fairytale.
I swear to god this book better be as good as it is pretty because I am losing it
