The cast of Donna Andrews New York Times bestselling Meg Langslow mystery series is back for an unforgettable holiday story in The Twelve Jays of Christmas. Delaneys mother sneaks into town so she and Megs mother can secretly plot a way to talk the happy couple into having a big bash. Hiding her only adds to Megs holiday stressits almost a full-time job fending all the visitors who want to confront Castlemaynereporters, bill collectors, process servers, and several ex-wives in search of unpaid alimony. Then someone murders Castlemayne in the middle of a blizzard and sets loose the birds he was painting. Can Meg help the police crack the case before the killer strikes again? Can she keep Christmas merry in spite of the body in the library? Can she negotiate a compromise between Rob and Delaney and their disappointed mothers? Just as I belatedly downloaded this audio for a cozy holiday read, I realized a little late that this title was part of a series. It worked, but I missed out on backstory for the large cast of characters. Meg Langslow is hobbled with a sprain, but that does not slow her down as she looks to solve a murder close to home. Gifting it 3+/5 ⭐️ for a merry “Ho Ho Homicide” story.

Goodness me I love this series so much. This is another Christmas instalment and sees Meg with a house full of visitors - again - when Murder ensues. So much fun!

The Meg Langslow series is my favorite cozy mystery series and this latest one is another pick. A famous painter has taken up residence in Meg's library while he paints birds for a book that Meg's grandfather is writing. He is a completely unlikable guy who has several enemies, so of course he is the victim. I love the antics of Meg's large, crazy family and the humor. #wintergames2021 #mistletoemaniacs @Clwojick #WGwordsearch

While I like these books, it‘s beyond me why Meg hasn‘t learned yet to avoid being alone in isolated places when there‘s a killer on the loose. This is the Christmas book, and it‘s on the low end of my pick scale. Mostly because the story went a little slow. It‘s been my bedtime listening, but I was almost finished, so I took it on my walk to finish it up. #audiowalk

I love Christmas in Caerphilly! I did miss Michael and the boys, but still a fun read that basically put me in the mood for Christmas a week before Halloween.
