Rarely EVER do I find that a romance book looks interesting. Rarely EVER do I first hear about a book, read the summary, investigate if my library has it, AND place a hold for it all in the space of five minutes. But I just did all that for this one!! It sounds so cute, and I also like the multi-culture aspect...and it just seems like it will hit all the right vibes for me. I hope I'm right!!!
Stellar #romance haul at the library today!
Despite the middle of the narrative‘s very slow building pace, I greatly appreciate Sharma‘s look at a multicultural romance, and the complications that can arise from it. Nash and Kiran meet in NYC, and what follows, told in alternate voices, is their story. Fun characters play a support role. The audio version is great, with Naqvi performing multiple voices well.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an audio review copy!
This was a fantastic book. I went into it thinking it was a romance book but it really isn‘t. It‘s more of a book about family issues with a little romance sprinkled in. This was tough to read in parts and found it a little triggering for purity culture stuff. But I really loved Kiran. I wish her friends had been a larger part of the book but I think the next books in the series will be about them!
