The Devil in Jerusalem
The Devil in Jerusalem: A Novel | Naomi Ragen
3 posts | 3 read | 4 to read
Two brothers are admitted to Jerusalem's Hadassah Hospital with horrific injuries. Their mother, a young American, devoutly recites Psalms at the bedside, refusing to answer any questions. Brought in to investigate, Detective Bina Tzedek follows a winding path that takes her through Jerusalem's Old City, kabbalists, mystical ancient texts, and terrifying cult rituals, until she finally uncovers the shocking truth. From internationally bestselling author Naomi Ragen, THE DEVIL IN JERUSALEM is a chilling tale of the paths that so easily lead us astray, and the darkness within us all.

Today's thrift store finds (it's in the path of my Saturday errands?), all three for $4.50. The two novels sound intriguing with maybe some tough subject matter. The cookbook (yes, I know I said I have too many cookbooks) looks like fun: "Classics From the First Century of American Cookbooks" & a good resource for pairing historical reads with recipes for my book tour reviews. And look how nicely they color coordinate too! #icanjustifyanything ?

drbethandherkindle I can't wait to see what that cookbook has in store! 8y
Jayhawk_In_Texas I can justify anything, too. My friends nicknamed me "The Enabler" and call me whenever they need an excuse to buy something. ????? 8y
JazzFeathers Wait. Wait. You mean that you cook dishes fir your book tour? 😍 8y

Pickpick

Such a sick, twisted world of religious fanaticism. This was a quick read and interesting but also deeply disturbing.
