The wrapping was almost too pretty to open @Texreader I also loved the card. Thank you so much. This seems blasphemous for this swap 😅 but I have actually never read Neil Gaiman so I am happy to start with this one. 🎃 #AllHallowsReadSwap #AHRS
I definitely have a weak spot for YA boarding school murder stories. Throw in some fairy tales and a bit of magic and I‘m sold. This was very fun and I loved all the diverse characters. Now to wait for the sequel 😩
My local bookstore had a deal buy one get one half off. This was my half off book. Imagine my surprise when it turns out it was worth the read! I love finding treasure where I least expect to find it. This has supernatural threads, murder, mystery and atmospheric setting. #readingchallenge2022
This YA dark mystery with a hint of the supernatural, set at an exclusive Swiss boarding school was a lot of fun. There were a few elements of the plot that were derivative, and had me wishing they were a bit more original, but I still found it really easy to get lost in the story. #LGBTQBookBingo #ARedCover #PopSugar2022 #ByALatinXAuthor #Booked2022 #DarkAcademiaNovel @Kenyazero @BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft
In the book “The Grimerose Girls“ the word drowned is used to described a character death. On the other hand the word “climb“ is normally used describe that someone is working hard to make their was up something like a mountain, but in this text they use the word climb to say that someone is walking up a flight of stairs.
I really liked characters: there was a really nice group of them. I like boarding schools as a setting so it wasn't surprising that I liked it here as well. This maybe wasn't as mysterious as I had thought this would be - there was so much else happening than solving the mystery. I still ended up liking this a bit lighter version.

"All the days she'd counted on the calendar until her freedom, because she didn't know how to fight back. Because in the end, she was comfortable with her situation, because she knew what it was. This house was safe, even when it wasn't. She knew this evil. She didn't know what would wait for her on the other side."
Ooof. Right in the feels. ?
"Nani belonged between the covers of the books she read, hugging their worlds, trying to be swallowed into their oblivion. Books rarely disappointed, even when they had terrible endings, because she could just move on from it and find another she liked. Books had been safe."
SAME. ???
I've been on a real Dark Academia kick lately, so I'm hoping to start this one soon! It looks AMAZING! 😍 Also, if you haven't already, you absolutely need to try the sugarplum danish from Starbucks! It's officially the best pastry they offer! 😋🥐
