pickI read this because it‘s a Stokercon nominee for best YA. This was great. Wren is at home trying to protect her family‘s farm from the blight that has taken over the surrounding farms and has turned some of the townspeople and all the woodland creatures into blighted zombies. When she can‘t reach her parents she calls her ex, Derek to come help her. Even if it fizzled just the tiniest bit in the end there were times when I was genuinely 👇🏼
Reggie creeped out. We went from scary farm field to empty house at night, to scary basement then back out into the scary woods where you could see the “fireflies,” the glowing zombie eyes. Nowhere felt safe, lol. The author also had me feeling for Wren and all the people in her life and their community. So pick! A big blighted pick! (edited) 2y

Reggie @lele1432 yeah, it was good. I think the author would do good for herself if she had left some open endings or left some things hazy, but I really liked this. Hope you do, too, if you pick it up. 🙂 2y
