Overall this book was well written. M.J. Scott is a talented author. My only issue with this novel was I found it fast to start, slow in the middle and fast to end. I found lily to be a very strong female character, however as her relationship with Simon grew, I found her constantly fighting to not lose her independence. This was a great factor to the novel, however I felt that aspect too repetitive. Overall a fun summer read for fantasy lovers.
