Picked this up ages ago and finally decided to pack it for this trip.
A small but complex book which talks about issues of immigration, slavery and humanity.

Random library find! I didn't know about this short story until I stumbled upon it & I'm so glad I did. I adore Zadie Smith - not only is her writing superb, but we share the same birthday & she's from NW London, where my boyfriend lives, so we're pretty much soulmates in my book. While this story is short & easy to get through, it delves into larger life topics rather smoothly & thoughtfully.
