This book started out slow for me but then I really got interested in the characters and story. Story about grief, hardship and perseverance. Worth the read.

Does anyone love magnolias like I do??! Their creamy, majestic beauty and that FRAGRANCE! 🤍🤍🤍 They‘re a big reason why I look forward to this time of year.
He's not this fat, it's the angle lol.
When I first started this book I wasn't sure how I was going to feel but the story wrapped up in a wonderful way.
I‘m pretty sure that I got this free on Audible. I don‘t typically read books that are heavy on religion, but this one was really touching. Dealing with grief and family and mental illness, with a heavy emphasis on faith, this was a surprisingly sweet tearjerker. Three and a half stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

I liked this book, but it did drag some in the middle and the ending was a little too neat and tidy for me which made it not seem cohesive with the rest of the story.
Set on a tobacco farm in the South, the Fosters deal with a variety of problems- drought, poverty, mental illness. I loved the uniqueness of the characters names; I felt it added a lot to their personalities.
Good read, not great. I'd borrow, not buy if interested.
Set during the 1980s on a Southern tobacco farm, Austin becomes caretaker to her family and bears the crushing weight of hiding familial secrets. Relying on her faith in God & the love of community, her family will learn to heal. The book drags a bit in the middle and the faith-based narrative is too heavy handed for my taste, but I am glad I finished it. CW: mental illness, racism, & suicide
Spent an afternoon reading: complete with snacks, jazz music, candles, tea, and flowers. This educator is on break!
