Great way to spend the afternoon…lunch and a really good book that I‘m having trouble putting down!

Love this quote… “But it‘s too late: the wheels are in motion, and the game has begun.”
Eh, this one had all the right elements, but the execution wasn‘t really there. I thought the reasoning behind everything was a bit unbelievable. Like are you really going to kill someone because of that? *Trying not to spoil anything*
I would probably give the author another try.

This novel just did not click for me. Botswana was underutilized, the characters were unlikable, the pacing was slow, the final reveal was unsurprising.
It was my 2nd “locked room“ thriller that I didn't love, although the other did the locked room parts well (Reprieve). This one dragged and became repetitive.
Well, this was a wild ride. 😳 This is a new-to-me author and her 4th book (a psychological thriller). This is told from the viewpoints of 4 best friends since childhood, Felicity, Hannah, Alice and Grace. They have a falling out (we hear the why later in the story) and haven‘t been in touch in 2 years, when the others receive a 30th birthday party invitation from Felicity…an all-expense-paid trip to a luxury safari lodge in Botswana. 🔻
This is a brilliant, fast paced and creepy psychological thriller. It‘s definitely a page turner. It‘s quite a tense story and there are a couple of great twists which I didn‘t see coming. I was on tenterhooks throughout wondering what was going to happen next. It takes you on a real rollercoaster of a ride. Exhilarating! #Pigeonhole
This was an interesting read. The story is told by the various main characters giving more depth to each role they play in the story. It begins in the present and dots back to the past to tell us the truth of that night. The plot is steady building to a dramatic climax but I found the ending a little quick for me. The writing is well done and creates the right atmosphere for the tone of the book. #Netgalley 4*
Wow, that was an entertaining rollercoaster of a book. It's dark, with lots of twists and turns, & even though the ending may be a little overdramatic, it works in the context of the plot. 4🌟
T/W: detailed sexual assault scenes, violence, brief description of a dead animal.
Thanks to NetGalley and publishers, HQ, for the opportunity to read an ARC.
