This quiet, finely crafted French novel about aging & aphasia, about acknowledging loss & being thankful for what we‘ve received, hit me at the perfect moment. Pandemic times have left me acutely aware of our continuing need for physical human contact, as well as emotional & intellectual intimacy, all of which is touched upon, though not the main story. It‘s been translated into English & many other languages; it deserves a wide audience.
