Die for Love
Die for Love: A Jacqueline Kirby Novel of Suspense | Elizabeth Peters
2 posts | 9 read | 7 to read
The annual Historical Romance Writers of the World convention in New York City is calling to Jacqueline Kirby, a Nebraska librarian who desperately desires some excitement. But all is not love and kisses at this august gathering of starry-eyed eccentrics and sentimental scribes. As far as Jacqueline is concerned, the sudden natural death of a gossip columnist seems anything but. And when shes approached by a popular genre star who fears for her own life, the resourceful Ms. Kirby quickly goes back to work . . . as a sleuth. Because theres a sinister scenario being penned at this purple prose congregation. And when jealousy and passion are given free rein beyond the boundaries of the printed page, the result can be murder.

Pickpick

Re-reading this - I adore Jacqueline Kirby, and this one is hilarious! She decides to go to a romance writers conference, because she is bored, and then decides to write an historical romance. Oh, and solve a murder mystery too. Easy and delightful reading.

The title is slightly off prompt but I think all Elizabeth Peters's books are #ToDieFor #SoaringScores

Cinfhen I like the cover 🤩 5y
CarolynM @Cinfhen The heroine is a librarian and a romance writer and there is some fun poked at the romance novel industry so the cover is quite apt😉😆 (edited) 5y
