pickHands down one of the best books I‘ve read this year. Expect a quiet but fierce account of life in a ruined city after the apocalypse, captured in journal entries that are being studied by a disregarded young academic fifty years later. Implied cosmic horror and inescapable academic prejudice in a narrative exploring what makes us choose to live, love and fight. Brilliant.
