Beautiful! Definitely want a hard copy for my classroom library.
Absolutely adored this middle grade novel in verse about a young girl who moves with her family from Pakistan to the US. Such a touching look at family life. The poems are lovely and completely accessible to younger readers, which is no easy writerly feat! Faruqi's own experience as a young immigrant adds depth to the story as well.
Loved this MG story in verse about a young girl & her family who move from Karachi, Pakistan to Peachtree City, Georgia. (The author‘s own experiences emigrating from the UAE to the US inform this story.) Nurah is a fantastic character—brave, curious, kind—& through her eyes we see many of the challenges & prejudices immigrants face but also the hope & kindness & acceptance. This is a great story about finding your place & making a new home.
