so-so

I wanted to like this photography book of young black people more. The pictures are amazing, but the text left something to be desired. Some of the photos were accompanied by a blurb about the child. Some of their stories were amazing, but I didn't feel like much effort was put into the words. A better writer or let the subject tell their story? Also, some of the backgrounds were so dark you couldn't see the hair they were trying to highlight
