A seemingly simple story, this book is in fact a powerful and touching story about kindness, hope, and friendship told through the chance encounter of a lonely old man and a young boy hiding from danger. The story is complemented by full page illustrations as well as smaller images throughout. A fun, heartwarming middle grade read.

DogMomIrene I just want you to know that I consistently screenshot your MG and YA book reviews to send my sister. Her three kids all love reading so she‘s always looking for new books! Like always. Thank you for helping parents keep kids in books📚❤️ 2y
TracyReadsBooks @DogMomIrene That‘s so awesome! Thanks for letting me know. Such a good problem to have—young readers who need ANOTHER good book to read! Fortunately, it‘s a great time to be a young reader. There are so many great MG and YA books out there. 2y
DogMomIrene @TracyReadsBooks Yes, there are! My #tbr keeps growing too! 2y

Visited Sandmeyer‘s Bookstore in Printer‘s Row (South Loop, Chicago) for the first time today & loved it. It‘s in the historic Rowe Building (sorry I don‘t have a better picture), has wood floors that creak with every step, big windows that flood the space with light & well curated stock. Grabbed the tagged book because the title grabbed my attention along with a short story collection I‘ve heard great things about. Definitely worth a visit.

Soubhiville Pretty storefront. 💛 2y
