Bailed at 29%. There were just too many little nagging annoyances, and they were preventing me from getting invested in the story.

1. North Carolina, 1895. But right now we're on a train from NYC to NC.
2. There's so, so, so many! I'll go with the small island in the Gulf of Finland in Tove Jansson's The Summer Book. Her descriptions were beautiful.

This is a historic fiction read set in North Carolina with a large bit of the plot surrounding Biltmore House. With that said this book read as if it picked up where a first book would‘ve ended. But that is not the case. It‘s a one and done story. A bit confusing and little in way of character growth. However setting and historical elements were enjoyable. It‘s a passable read.
My Amazon Prime November first reads pick. Did anyone else pick this book?
