My fiancé and I are hoping to get pregnant in the New Year, so I thought I'd get a head start! Overall: a great intro. Schrock's perspective is non-judgmental albeit mainstream. She uses scientific references, covering 4 "trimesters" including conception and baby's first 3 months. Health stuff, practical planning, tips about relationships, etc, plus a bit of her own story. If you were going to read only 1 pregnancy book, this is a good choice!
CaseyTheCanadianLesbrarian Caveat that the focus is on white middle class American cis women with cis male partners. As a Canadian, I found it easy to skip over the American -centric parts (albeit feeling horrified at hospital costs and going back to work when your baby is only 3 months old!!) but your mileage may definitely vary re: other biases. 4y
