Swiss-cheese worldbuilding that introduces major plot-important information only when convenient to drive the story. Relies on strict and off-putting gender binary roles. It had so much potential.

Taking notes for my review of the tagged #audiobook #ARC - I'm 52% in now. Listening at 2.0x speed and it's still 7 more hours. I'm sure I could have read the ~450pp much faster, but 2.5x speed is too fast to listen to.
