I received all of this as a gift from the wonderful human @CarolynM I will always remember her as the first person I ever started to interact with on Litsy. I had totally forgotten you were going to send me Tennis Lessons & I‘ve wanted the tagged book ever since it came out last year. Thanks. I feel so spoilt. I can‘t believe you remembered about my ❤️ for that 🍫. As you can see by there being only 1 block in the pic, I ate the other right away.

so-so

I'm in 2 minds about this book. On the one hand it's the best evocation of a gifted musician's experience of music making and performance I've ever read, but on the other it's an oddly unconvincing study of a person unwilling or unable to form satisfying relationships (platonic or romantic). It may say more about me than the book, but I found the frequent crude sexual references & sex scenes made me less than sympathetic to the MC. #BookspinBingo

CarolynM @JennyM I'll be interested to see what you think of it. There's interesting stuff in there, but idk, the gross sex stuff put me off. Maybe people really behave like that, but I want it to be a bit more convincing. I'm ok, thanks for asking😘 Just taking it one day at a time. 4y
