Circus of the Dead
Circus of the Dead: Book 3 | Kimberly Loth
5 posts | 3 read | 5 to read
"Congratulations Callie, you're the puppet now."What the devil does that mean? I've finally succeeded in doing away with Samuel, but I'm not really in charge of the island at all. In fact the treachery runs deeper than I ever thought possible and if I'm not careful every soul on the island-both living and dead-will want to kill me for what I've done unless I discover who is really in charge. Do I have the ability to overcome myself and do what I need to do or will I have to stand by and watch everyone I love die?

The MC is sent to spend the summer with her uncle who works for a circus on a remote island in Louisiana after he summons for her – only he didn‘t. And it‘s not just called the Circus Of The Dead – people actually die there, sometimes as part of the acts. Once on the island, she‘s desperate to find a way to escape all the ghosts & danger & . . . boys? I really liked this book, but a little too boy crazy for my taste. And such a sudden ending!

I dislike that the book ended on a cliffhanger midway through the book‘s main plot line. Nothing was resolved in the book. I don't feel like any of my questions were answered. I also found myself not believing what was going on, probably because the main character didn't believe what was happening. I won‘t be reading more and that makes me sad. I liked the world and the premise seems cool, if only I‘d gotten to see more of it.

Saw this book on KindleUnlimited for a while, so surprised no one‘s reviewed it on Litsy yet, & that the sequels aren‘t on Litsy at all. This was so much fun! I will def be reading through other books in the series. A few YA cliches at first, but those fizzled out as the book carried on. A creepy circus filled with ghosts & set in New Orleans with Voodoo lore tied in. What‘s not to love?
