This book taught me 2 things - there used to be an English law that people could not marry the siblings of their deceased spouses. And a throw away comment (this time about baby formula in a book set in 1770s) can send me down a deep Google rabbit hole.
This book is ridiculous. I didn't enjoy the first bit mostly b/c him not telling her who he is while she thought he was her husband had me thinking about sexual assault - not sexy
Writing was silly

I am finishing this book if it can get my eyes stuck from how far back in my head my eyes just rolled ?

I don't read these books often probably because the writing is just ridiculous - which can be good sometimes but not often.

Romance like this is not my normal read, I am trying to branch out more and have read a few this year, this one I stumbled on through TikTok and if we judged a book by how much we think about it while not reading this one is up there.

I have the day off so took Peri on an afternoon walk. It was in the upper 20s, which almost felt balmy after the below zero temps we've had the last few days. While walking I listened to the Learning the Tropes podcast episode where they talk about the tagged book. They had author Sarah MacLean on as a guest. It was a really enjoyable and funny episode.

This book is CRACKED OUT. An Earl dies on a jungle expedition and makes his ne'er-do-well twin bro swear he will *pretend to be him* so his preggo wife won't get upset and lose the baby. What could go wrong with THAT gem of a plan? Pretty much a regency Sweet Valley High book. I'm not complaining.
