Book #11 done for 2022. Cute, Helen is very different in the book than the show.

I liked this one a bit better than the second, mostly because Helen is my favorite. My favorite part of the book, though, was the subplot about Karen. Some of the Helen/Eric plot was too problematic for me (I could get on my feminist killjoy soapbox about some things, but won‘t). However, it‘s a pick because being mad at Helen and Eric and the inevitable happy ending allowed me to forget about my own problems.
April finds listening relaxing, too.
I fell for the Sweet Magnolias because of Netflix and applaud the diverse cast they put on screen. This series is fantastic but all characters are assumed white and the storylines are wonderfully complex and full of content that, I hope, will allow for many more seasons of the show to come.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This one took me a little bit to read and not bc it was over 400 pgs but bc it was a feel good book that I wove in between my other books as an intermission. Helen has always been my favorite of the Magnolias so this book was a good one. If you‘re in the mood for a feel good drama with a happy ending this one is for you. #recommended #litsy
Beach read 🙂🙂🙂 I needed a brain break after My Dark Vanessa. SO something #relaxing. #takeabreak #romance #feelgood #beachread #litsy
Listening to coworkers at my bookstore talking about how their books deal with gender and dystopian societies and the like, I started feeling ashamed that I love romance books. However, I will always stand behind what I like even if I can‘t use big words to explain why. In a world full of chaos and uncertainty, I love books where I know the end from the beginning. My name is Carmen and I LOVE HAPPY ENDINGS! Especially by Sherryl Woods!
