“You don‘t miss much , do you?” James said with a grin.
“ No, I‘m a great student of human nature,” she said with modest pride.
...and this book is a great study of human nature. The story of two families living their lives in the lead up to the Second World War. The Blackett family, and the Fraser family with their lodger Miss Spanner.
A study of human nature wrapped up in wonderful storytelling and writing.
Excellent rich reading.
Only starting, but it looks like Mr. Blackett quite fancies himself ... 😁
I finally have a day to myself , but I cannot settle on a book ..... I‘m going to retry these 🤞
An anti instagram picture (aka time I addressed the damp on my windows!)

#bookmail today is a total #blameitonLeah @LeahBergen 😆 As soon as I saw her post about the British Library Women Writers series sometime back, I went clickety-click and here we are.
I‘m so excited for this new British Library Women Series. I‘ve had this series on my wish list for months now, so I was beyond ecstatic when they showed up last week, just in time for my birthday. These types of books are my absolute favourite. Forgotten books written by women, finding their way back into the publishing world and the hands of readers. I just found out two more will be released later this year! (cont. in comments)
