I plan to read the tagged book this month, and I‘m stretching the #titlesandtunes #islandvibes theme to include the island of Ireland. And if your book is set in Dublin, you kind of have to pick a U2 song, right? “I Still Haven‘t Found What I‘m Looking For” seemed like a great song title to accompany a mystery. 😂

This book has been compared to Tana French mysteries, which caught my attention. The only similarity is that it takes place in Ireland. I found it slow at the start, I ended up skimming through it and was never that interested. I only finished it because I'd already given up on two previous books.

I‘ve been reading a lot of fantasy or supernatural books lately, and this has been a fantastic and refreshing change!! Loving this so very much so far!

First book in an ongoing story that introduces detective Maggie D ‘Arcy. A committed homicide detective who is haunted by the 23 year old disappearance of her cousin. 23 years after her cousin was last seen in Ireland, a new disappearance ignites the flames when searches turned up some of Erin‘s personal belongings. Determined to solve this case, Maggie returns to Ireland. What she discovers will bring betrayal right to her front door.

I admit I massacred most of the Irish in this book, but when I got to this page I just burst out laughing. 😂

My last two reads both involved mysteries in Ireland. Foley continues ratchet up the suspense.
I had not read Sarah Stewart Taylor before and I really enjoyed her characters and how she wove the story between Long Island and Ireland. I hope there's a sequel.

This is my first from this author and the start of her second mystery series, and I really enjoyed it. Maggie D‘Arcy is a Long Island homicide detective whose cousin Erin disappeared 23 years ago in Ireland while hiking. She is haunted by questions and returns there for a second time when Erin‘s scarf is discovered after another hiker goes missing. Lots of twists and turns with this one, and while perhaps overly long, it kept me invested in the 🔻
