Spider's Bite
Spider's Bite: An Elemental Assassin Book | Jennifer Estep
17 posts | 42 read | 18 to read
After Gins family was murdered by a Fire elemental when she was thirteen, she lived on the streets and eventually became an assassin to survive. Now, Gin is given an assignment by her handler to rub out an Ashland businessman, but it turns out to be a trap. After Gins handler is brutally murdered, she teams up with the sexy detective investigating the case to figure out who double-crossed her and why. Only one thing is for sure Gin has no qualms about killing her way to the top of the conspiracy.

Another selfie with a book from back when I was skinny. First book in a new series I was keen to start; it feels like it‘s Faith Hunter‘s characters in Jeaniene Frost‘s writing style, if that makes sense. It was okay, it didn‘t feel very complex/sophisticated so there‘s room to develop. Its interesting having a sexually dominant female character (it‘s a good thing!). I‘m keen to continue with the series to see where it goes and if it improves.

Not at all thrown together yesterday like I was going to fix it up neatly today but ended up taking the kiddo to the pediatrician for what turns out to be a raging ear infection (she cannot catch a break anymore!) with hubby home sick for the first time in eight years… #BookSpin

rabbitprincess Poor kiddo! I hope she‘s feeling better soon ❤️ 2y

I really enjoyed this new-to-me urban fantasy with a kick-ass heroine. There's adventure, chosen family, elemental magic, and revenge. I'll definitely look for the next book in the series 😁 4.5⭐

So many books make us forget about reality, which is sometimes what we all need. I love when I find a book that literally gives me no choice but to jump right into that world.

I'm sure I've said it before, but urban fantasy is my #happyread. It doesn't matter how dark it might be. Jane Yellowrock, Mercy Thompson, Gin Blanco, Rachel Morgan...the list can go on forever. If it takes me out of reality, and has a strong female lead, I'm in. #marchintoreading @RealLifeReading

RealLifeReading I recently read Borderline which is set in LA but has an interesting fey element! Also female protagonist. 8y

Simply, Gin Blanco kicks ass.

My #favoritefemalecharacter recently is Gin Blanco - The Spider. She's an assassin, avenges her family, can cook some mean BBQ, cares for her new family and has elemental magic. She's a mix of love, death and girl power. #bookphotochallenge

One of my most favorite series ever! A really new and interesting take on the 'paranormal/urban fantasy genre'.
