In looking for a book similar to Sophie‘s World for Eastern Philosophy, I stumbled upon this book. It combines east and west, and is organised thematically, so by “project” as opposed to period or philosopher. I know we‘re a long way off from Pooh and Piglet still, but this could be a fun third book. Just offering it for consideration.

ravenlee I think he wrote one of those short guides, like the philosophy in the Muslim world one, but I don‘t know if that was on our list. I found this on my shelf recently and was trying to figure out why I had it but hadn‘t read it. I‘d love to read it together if anyone‘s interested. 3w

GingerAntics @ravenlee I still have my copy just sitting here. Was that really multiple years ago now? That‘s crazy. I have another book of his, a short history of truth that we talked about reading at one point too. I vote we read this one next, after Other Minds. This should (in theory) be more how we started than what we have read lately.
