F*ck No!
F*ck No!: How to Stop Saying Yes When You Can't, You Shouldn't, or You Just Don't Want To | Sarah Knight
8 posts | 9 read | 15 to read
With 2 million copies sold worldwide, Sarah Knight's bestselling No F*cks Given Guides prove that she's the Queen of No: no to a single extraneous f*ck given, to unwanted obligations, overcommitting, and overcomplicating her life. For Sarah, saying no is easy. For the rest of us, it's stress-inducing, blood pressure-raising, teeth-grinding hard. But it doesn't have to be. F*ck No! is filled with tips, techniques, and practical strategies that will arm you with not only permission to decline, but plenty of ammunition for doing so. An encyclopedia of examples, a cornucopia of comebacks, a plethora of polite replies: if you're looking to say no (and without being selfish, unlikeable, or mired in missing out), you've come to the right place.

4/5⭐ Sometimes you just need someone else to give you permission (and scripts) to say no. #bookspinbingo

Let‘s be honest,
This wasn‘t really revolutionary in any way. But I knew that from the beginning & didn‘t read it for that specific reason.
I have crippling social anxiety & this book served solely for the purpose to reassure me. And it did not fail. It provides fill in forms & answers to a lot of different types of problems.
BUT I can see why other people would disagree with me, it just doesn‘t bring anything new to the table.

A great mix of helpful advice and humor. The first part helps you identify why you say yes when you don't want to and how to work on it. The second part is a ton of examples and good ways to say no. Her other books are now on my TBR list.

dariazeoli I saw this and thought a Kindle would serve him so much better! 5y
cathysaid @AmyG Exactly! My first thought was...what kind of a brain came up with this sh*t?!?! Much like my response when I watched the movie Saw. 5y
Bookquilter My mother told me as a kid “books are your friends“ and to treat them as such. There is no way I would cut a friend down the middle. 5y
Karkar 😱😱🤢🤢🤢😱😱😱 5y
Soubhiville Oh god no! I‘ve also heard stories of long distance hikers on the AT and PCT tearing pages off their books as they‘ve read them and burning them to cut pack weight. Gasp! The horror! 5y
jillrhudy @Soubhiville the *instant* I burned a page I would need to go back and refresh my memory about where a character came from. 5y

First book purchase of 2020! 2019 was a rough, rough year. I think this will be the closest I‘ll get to a New Year‘s resolution.

Mariposa_Bookworm @Sungirl79 Thank you! I hope it totally rocks for you as well. 5y
RachelAmphlett I‘m going to have to get this - I‘ve heard so many horror stories about 2019 that my own woes pale by comparison - here‘s to a cracking 2020 for all of us! 5y
