Celebrate the magic of Christmas in Haven Point with New York Times bestselling author RaeAnne Thayne, where hope, home and happily-ever-after are as close as your holiday stocking Christmas is the last thing on Cole Barrett's mind this year. He's barely hanging on trying to care for his two grieving children since his ex-wife died in a tragic accident. For the reclusive Cole, this is no time for gift-giving and celebrationand certainly not for a sunny-natured optimist to blow into his screwed-up life. Physician Devin Shaw has long researched the curative powers of Lake Haven's mineral waters. Unfortunately, the hot springs are on Barrett property, forcing Devin to strike a bargain with the ranch's attractively gruff owner: she'll give Cole's children a magical Christmas, and Cole will allow her patients access to the springs. But can she work her holiday magic to heal the Barrett family's battered heartsand her own?

I love this series. RaeAnne Thayne‘s books are low angst, no stress, wonderful small town stories and I love them all. Devin is one of the town‘s doctors. She ends up getting tangled with Cole‘s little family-just himself and his two young children. As Devin gets closer and closer to the children, she and Cole fall in love. This is a verrry slow burn, even for Thayne, but worth the wait. I loved Cole‘s progression with confidence as a single dad.

This was a wonderful holiday story. I didn't want it to end. I loved all the characters and the plot. If I could have asked for anything, it would be to see more of Cole's work with the horses and to also see more of the outcome with Jaz. But I really enjoyed this one and will definitely be reading more of this author's work.

TheAromaofBooks Just finished this series today and I loved them all! 5y
tracey38 @TheAromaofBooks I need to read them all! 5y
TheAromaofBooks They were super happy. And apparently this whole series was a spin-off from another series, so maybe I'll read that one next! 5y
tracey38 @TheAromaofBooks oh really? I'll have to look that up, too. 🙂 5y
TheAromaofBooks Yes, Hope's Crossing is the name of the other series. It's supposedly a small town in Colorado. In the first book of the Haven Point series, the male love interest is apparently related to the family that stars in most of the Hope's Crossing books. And that all sounded way more confusing than it is when I typed it out. 😆 5y

I swear this hasn't been the best reading month for me. I haven't been able to read much during the week, and most Saturdays have been busy. Yesterday was my oldest niece's 5th birthday party! But this is the last holiday read I have planned and am starting today.

TheAromaofBooks I just read this one last week!! It was pretty happy - now I've been sucked into the entire series! 5y
tracey38 @TheAromaofBooks I read my first book by her recently and had to go find another, which was this one! I'm already almost halfway through just from last night! 5y
TheAromaofBooks They've just been really relaxing and low-stress, and I enjoy the fact that they aren't full of explicit sex scenes. And now that I'm on book 6/10, the characters from previous books are starting to be a big part of the background, which is fun. 5y
tracey38 @TheAromaofBooks that's fun that characters from previous books make appearances. These are perfect books for just enjoying this time of year. 5y

Third installment of this series was just as happy and relaxing as the first two. I did get mildly annoyed with the female lead, who kept pestering the dude to share his feelings and past, but then refused to reciprocate when he did, but overall a feel-good romance.

hes7 I‘m listening to this one now! 5y

“Like so much of medicine, emergency medicine was all a roll of the #dice. Devin loved her regular practice as a family physician in partnership with Russell Warrick, who had been her own doctor when she was a kid. She loved having a day-to-day relationship with her patients and the idea that she could treat an entire family from cradle to grave.” #QuotsyDec18
