Unicorns 101

The restrictions imposed on owning a unicorn in LA county (should Madeline manage to find one) are: ample exposure to sunlight, rainbows, and moonbeams, it‘s horn must be polished with a soft cloth at least once a month, it must be fed watermelon at least once a week, and any #Sparkles or glitter sprinkled on the animal must be nontoxic and biodegradable.

Cute faux-nonfiction book about unicorns and 2nd book to claim that they poop cupcakes making it a fact. Fun read aloud. I rec. using a docu-camera to reveal visual punchlines. It has 2 seek and find pages to gaze at. This book has a lot of potential, but be warned. It's not for everybody. Save yourself the shame of having to read outloud words such as Certified Hornologist.

mandarchy Students who 😍 work sheets *they exist* love it when the publisher produces tie-in activities. In this case coloring book pages are obvious, but a unicorn name generator would be a fun follow up activity. Or a unicorn recipe book or menu. Off the page: for a movement activity, kids could have a unicorn dance off! All ideas from the book! 2y

This book is set up like a class on unicorns for kids. It‘s a bunch of funny infographics with an all over theme. For kids one and one it could be a very fun read, but I think it‘s too convoluted or complicated for storytime.
