I know they were F-14 Tomcats in Top Gun, but I‘m using today‘s #SoaringScores prompt as an excuse to post a photo of my favourite aircraft, and tag the book that tells the story of its use in the 1982 Falklands War, including the remarkable logistics of the in-flight refuelling exercise required to complete 12,200km round trip from Ascension Island to Port Stanley.
