Death of Yesterday
Death of Yesterday | M. C. Beaton
6 posts | 9 read | 3 to read
From the author of the Agatha Raisin television series...DEATH OF YESTERDAY: A Hamish Macbeth MysteryWhen a local woman tells Sergeant Hamish Macbeth that she doesn't remember what happened the previous evening, he doesn't begin to worry. She had been out drinking, after all, and he'd prefer not to be bothered with such an arrogant and annoying woman. But when her body is discovered, Hamish is forced to investigate a crime that the only known witness--now dead--had forgotten.

Okay it‘s the weekend 👏👏👏😍 Not got Coronavirus (or at least not that I know of 😳) so time to really kick the Readathon off. Safest place is to be in the house reading clearly!

Going to get the weekend off with a bang by trying to finish off this book, which would be the fourth book finished. Currently 59% through the book. #MarchUnshelfingReadathon #MarchUnshelfing

GHABI4ROSES I am working the CoronaCause for sure this weekend! Happy Friday, and Tale pocked up 200 pages in, lol. 5y
GHABI4ROSES *PICKED up (although it has been pocky) 5y

Started my second book for #MarchunshelfingReadathon

This is book 28 in the excellent Hamish Macbeth series. A shame M C Beaton is no longer with us to write more, but at least I‘ve still got six more to look forward to.

Geenie How‘d you tag multiple people at the same time 5y
Clwojick I think I need to check out more of her books! I remember really enjoying the one audiobook I listed to a few years back. But maybe after I read some more off of my own shelf 😝 5y
Andrew65 @Yoshi-and-a-book When doing your post if you click on tag people, middle button at the bottom, puta name in the search function that comes up. Then click on the name you want. This person is then tagged and the name disappears from the search function. Then put a new name in and click on that name. Repeat this for all the names you want to tag and then click done and they will all be tagged. Hope I‘ve explained it well enough! 5y

Andrew65 @Clwojick I‘ve been collecting her books for a few years and really enjoy the quirky nature of them. 5y
BlameJennyJane Oh my goodness! I didn‘t realize she died. I‘m so sad! 5y
GHABI4ROSES Oh these look GOOD😬 5y
Andrew65 @BlameJennyJane Yes unfortunately on 30tb December last year. 😢 5y
Andrew65 @GHABI4ROSES They are good fun reads. 5y
veritysalter M C Beaton was my go to author when I was in a bad place; her Agatha Raisin series got me through the early days of my sons chronic illness. I‘ve read Hamish Macbeth and nearly all of her historical romances. Her books were and are always delightful. ♥️ 5y
Crazeedi @Andrew65 I'm glad I still have many of both these series to read! 5y
GHABI4ROSES @SquidgetsRoom thinking BR for this series on GR‼️ 5y
Andrew65 @Crazeedi Great place to be. 😊 5y
Andrew65 @veritysalter Despite being about murder, the easy read nature of these books is perfect for such situations and can make you smile and laugh! 5y
Andrew65 @GHABI4ROSES That‘s very coded! 🤔 5y
GHABI4ROSES @Andrew65 we have had some ironic laughs over Murder at work, so this might be a good fit🤪 5y
Andrew65 @GHABI4ROSES Definitely! 5y

This is the first book I‘ve read from this series, and I believe I‘ll turn to it again when I need a mystery that includes a few chuckles.

Another great read, but there were unfortunately several aspects that got to me this time!
I found myself getting very annoyed at Heathers character and the way she always managed to constantly escape, and just as i felt elated at Hamish finally getting engaged to Elspeth, Elspeth messes it up..

I adore Dicks character in the book though! It's been nice to see Hamish finally happy enough to share his police station!

Saw this rabbit on my walk today; he looks like someone‘s pet. When I went back to check on him, he was gone though; I hope his owner found him. I‘m listening to another Hamish Macbeth book on my walks. #audiowalk

No idea why I have insomnia. I slept for 2 hours and have been awake for longer than that. It's nearly 5 AM, and I have most of this week off, so screw it, I'm taking a sleeping pill and starting a new book. Lochdubh, take me away!
