This is where I gave up. By turns conventional and unfunny (unless you like puns), this one just isn‘t working. Smoke Gets in Your Eyes by Caitlin Doughty is much, much better.

Memoir of a small-town mortician. I picked it up because of a mention in a subreddit thread, and wanted to look into more detail.
Sadly, the writing style didn't click with me, and I mostly skimmed this. There's a lot of poetical/philosophical discussion on mortality in light of the nature of god, and the human-interest stories did not salvage that for me.
This would be a perfect read for Six Feet Under fans.
Don‘t like horror but want a Halloween read? Lynch writes about the industry surrounding #death in a funny, humanizing way. #newhogwartsadventure @vkois88 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
He could sell you a #coffin, but Lynch‘s true gift is the ability to find the humor in the “dismal science.” A highly entertaining read! #coolbooks @Linsy
