Frozen inside a million-ton mass of ice-the charred remains of a long missing luxury yacht, vanished en route to a secret White House rendezvous. The only clue to the ship's priceless-and missing-cargo: nine ornately carved rings and the horribly burned bodies of its crew."

The idea of a ship inside an iceberg is a bit unbelievable, and alot of what happens in this story is far fetched. However, Major Dirk Pitt is such a swashbuckling smartass scallywag that i found his escapades thoroughly enjoyable. I'll be looking out for more of his adventures.

I adore Clive Cussler. All his books are filled with adventure, high stakes, intrigue, mystery and of course tall, handsome guys. ;) This is no different as it follows Dirk Pitt, an airforce pilot and NUMA operative. Finding himself in some precarious situations, but also showing astounding resolve. This book is filled with international debauchery and intrigue. A masterful plan is brought crumbling down.

#cringeworthy I inherited quite a few of these when a friend started downsizing his personal library. I used to really enjoy them for the historical treasure hunting, but as I've gotten older, I've started to notice more and more the racist, misogynistic, and homophobic under currents. #readingresolutions @Jess7

HELP ME!!! 😫
Littens I need your expertise on a last minute gift! I'm getting everyone in my family a book as a stocking stuffer. 🎄📚 My brother loves Clive Cussler and has read pretty much all of them. Can you recommend other authors/books he might like?? I'm heading to the bookstore after work today.

MeganAnn Thanks so much @Lindy!! 😘 You've saved me from wandering aimlessly around the bookstore when I should be at home doing laundry. This is super helpful! 7y

Well, that had too many passages that were disrespectful toward women, gays, and transsexuals. Way more than the first book (The Mediterranean Caper). There was definitely an interesting twist at the end, but I wasn't impressed and it was a struggle to get through 🙁
