When the World Didn't End: Poems
When the World Didn't End: Poems | Caroline Kaufman
5 posts | 5 read | 1 to read
Teen Instagram sensation and author of Light Filters In @poeticpoison returns with a second collection of short, powerful poems about love, forgiveness, self-discovery, and what its like living after a hard-fought battle with depression, in the vein of poetry collections like Milk and Honey and the princess saves herself in this one. In her second book of poetry, Instagram sensation Caroline Kaufmanknown as @poeticpoisonexplores the shock, wonder, and beauty of an uncertain future. When the World Didnt End is a vivid account of trying to find a path forward while reckoning with the pain of the past, embracing imperfection, and unlearning the language of self-criticism. Its an ode to the awkward silence between goodbye and hanging up, to hearts that continue to beat after theyre broken, to the empty spaces that depression leaves behind. With vulnerability and insight, this powerful collection of short poems holds up a mirror to the doubt and longing inside us all. This collection features completely new material plus some fan favorites from Carolines account. Filled with haunting, spare pieces of original art, When the World Didnt End will thrill existing fans and newcomers alike. so, what now? how will you make the most of it? how will you live the life you never thought youd get the chance to see?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I read Kaufman‘s debut “light filters in” last year and loved it, so I was looking forward to its sequel; “when the world didn‘t end”. I must say that I definitely didn‘t love this one as much as it‘s predecessor, but it still is a solid book of poetry with some memorable poems.

Managed to get through a fair amount of books during the #easterextravaganza readathon! I wanted to read volumes 10-14 of Lumberjanes and finish at least 2 other books and I was super close to my goal, but I didn‘t manage to read the last volume of Lumberjanes. Thanks for hosting @Andrew65

Andrew65 Fantastic, well done. 👏👏👏🙌🍾🥂😊 Thanks for playing along. 5y
