I did not find this ‘wholly absorbing‘ as the blurb indicates. It wasn‘t boring, but it never grabbed me and I don‘t think I will pick up the second book. This is the third book I have read recently sit in 1800s England basically and that might have impacted my feelings on this one, but I don‘t think so.
