The Truth About Magic
The Truth About Magic: Poems | Atticus
15 posts | 14 read
From the internationally bestselling author of The Dark Between Stars and Love Her Wild, Instagram sensation Atticus returns with another romantic and deeply moving collection. In his third collection of poems, Atticus takes us on adventure to discover the truth about magic. Through heartbreak and falling in love, looking back and looking inward, he writes about finding ourselves, finding our purpose, and the simple joys of life with grace, wit, and longing. Whether its drinking wine out of oak barrels, laughing until you cry, dancing in old barns until the sun comes up, or making love on sandy beaches, Atticus reminds us that magic is everywherewe simply have to look for it.

My first collection of poems from Atticus, despite following him for more than a year on Instagram. Such beautiful prose and imagery!

‘Have you ever had a feeling there‘s more to you than the person everybody else sees, a person hidden deep within the very fabric of your soul- you must pull that thread, unravel the truth of you and wake without yourself that great giant you already know you can be.‘ Atticus always makes me fall in love with the simple things in life. Something about the way he writes makes even the melancholy seem not so bad. 💜

I'm no expert when it comes to poetry, as I've only really started reading it last year.

But the way Atticus is able to speak into my soul and enlighten my mind puts a smile in my heart every time.

He's becoming a favourite and I don't even know half of what's out there.

Sweetkokoro I just ordered this for my daughter and she is so excited to get it. 4y
Enchanted_Bibliophile @Sweetkokoro It is a beautiful edition. I only have the electronic edition, but added it to my list of physical books to buy 😊 4y

The guy currently courting me (Shhhh, I‘ll probably actually start dating him soon, but don‘t tell) went to an Atticus signing for me last year because he wasn‘t going to be anywhere near me but Atticus was in his city. The guy not only picked which page he wanted Atticus to sign (he said Atticus was only signing front pages), he also read through the entire book and left me sticky notes of his thoughts on some of the pieces. It‘s swoon worthy.

MeganAnn Awww this is the cutest thing ever! He seems like a keeper 😍😉 5y
Lizpixie Grab him while you can lovely! There‘s not that many like that out there, I love my hubs to bits but geez I wish he was a reader sometimes💁🏻‍♀️ 5y
CaitlinSiem Thank you @MeganAnn and @Lizpixie We are seeing each other in two weeks and the plan is to make this official (it‘s going to start as long distance) but he‘s really been proving that he‘s a great man and a worthy catch :) I finally have felt special to someone who didn‘t just want a quick fix. 5y

My Sunday mornings are meant for poetry and Atticus's newest book of poetry is beautiful. I'm a fan already, but this book is simply magical. Simple, heartfelt, touching, hopeful, and lovely. I love them all!

I love the simple way Atticus shares the innate feeling of love. Of the different kinds of magic you find in love, in youth, in Her, in words, in stars, in adventure, in darkness... magic is everywhere, we simply have to look for it.
