The heat and humidity have calmed down a little bit in South Carolina and it‘s a beautiful Saturday to sit outside and read. Finishing this one up today 😊

Some parts I loved and others I honestly glazed over. I think the authors writing style is what hindered me more so than the content. The overall message is that we are gifted the gospel before we ask for it, and no earthly tasks can gain us entry into heaven or keep us out if we go through Jesus. We are accepted the way we are.
This is one of my all-time favorite books. It captures the true heart of God . . . for you. It offers an accurate depiction of the Good News. It‘s ‘must read.‘
Day 12: The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning; I read this book earlier this year and it made me rethink how I think of God's love for me #31Books #BooksIRecommend

I purchased this book in 1997! It's completely covered by underlining and comments. I haven't read it since then. I'm kinda nervous to read what I wrote then.
Some of us are going to do a buddy read of this. It is a nonfiction book about Christianity. If you're interested in joining, see @steverogers post about it (or post here.) @EllieDottie @MatchlessMarie @JenaJenkins
A lot of you posted that you had "The Ragamuffin Gospel" on your TBR. Would anyone be interested in a read along? I'm not sure how #buddyreads work as I haven't ever done one, but I would love to try if enough people were interested!
I don't have the answers but I have learned to embrace the paradoxes of life because it can be both beautiful and ugly. To live in only one realm would be half living. I don't want just the beautiful - give me the ugly too, so that I can have a full life. #takemetochurch #lyricalapril
