The 48 Laws Of Power
The 48 Laws Of Power | Robert Greene
The perfect gift book for the power hungry (and who doesn't want power?) at an excellent price. The Concise Edition of an international bestseller. At work, in relationships, on the street or on the 6 o'clock news: the 48 Laws apply everywhere. For anyone with an interest in conquest, self-defence, wealth, power or simply being an educated spectator, The 48 Laws of Power is one of the most useful and entertaining books ever. This book 'teaches you how to cheat, dissemble, feign, fight and advance your cause in the modern world.' (Independent on Sunday) The distilled wisdom of the masters - illustrated through the tactics, triumphs and failures from Elizabeth I to Henry Kissinger on how to get to the top and stay there. Wry, ironic and clever this is an indispensable and witty guide to power. The laws are now famous:- Law 1: Never outshine the master Law 2: Never put too much trust in friends; learn how to use enemies Law 3: Conceal your intentions Law 4: Always say less than necessary

This book is powerful. Robert Green is my best writer. He's mysterious. I loved his books, especially this one. He has an amazing and interesting life.

I used it at work. I climbed the ladder from being a newbie to an expert.

If you're struggling to transform yourself. You can use it.

Happy reading.

48 laws of power.

Finally, I got my hands on a complete collection of concise series.

Desha I‘ve wanted to read these for a while now. If you do a review of any of them I‘d love to read it! 📚📚📚 1y
Parvez @Desha Already read 48 laws of Power, Mastery, and Laws of Human nature. I can say anyone can start with laws of human nature and then get into 48 laws of power, as it is a little controversial regarding its subject matter. 1y
Desha Thank you! I have browsed through 48 laws a few times and it‘s got some good stuff in it. I didn‘t know about Laws of Human Nature so I‘ll start there! 1y

When you read books such as these you must dissect it, like a frog on the science table. Maneuver between each word, look beyond and in between the lines there‘s more than meets the eye. It comes with discipline and with those who have a ear to listen. You must be open to more than one road in this life. Trust me . This book will change your perspective on everyone in your life

Non-fiction: Do you feel the author is believable? Does he/she write with any bias? Explain.

No, this book is mostly informative. It talks about tactics that previous historical figures used to gain power so there is no bias. I believe the author is believable because he brings in examples and evidence to back up his point.

Non-fiction: What is the tone of the text and how do you know?
April 28, 2021

The tone of the text is more authoritative, informative, and “older“ than anything. The author wrote the book so it would give the reader a feel for power. It teaches us the ways of how previous leaders have gained control and power. Although this book was made a while back so it makes sense into why it sounds “older.“

The book takes you on a journey of laws, with short history lessons about the laws. It's a phenomenal read and worth the time. Like all of Robert Greene's books highly recommended.

I have heard a lot about this book, to be honest it is not what I was expecting, nevertheless I couldn't stop reading it. It is an evil man's step-by-step guide to deceipt & backstabbing, I am sure this book is popular amongst politicians and the mafia. It is useful to recognize power plays in the workspace and life in general. I hope the teachings of this book are not attractive to people, otherwise we will live in a terrible world.

Couldn't make it past the first chapter, the premise "people are evil, cruel, and dishonest - so the only way to get ahead in life is to be even more evil, cruel, and dishonest than everyone else" just doesn't sit well with me.

RATED: ⭐⭐
The cold hard perspective piqued my interest in the beginning. I found myself picking it up every night to validate my "realist" perspective of the world. While I can relate my daily truths in almost all laws in the book, I found it hard to stay interested in the relevant anecdotes.

Who else has read this? Let me know what you think!

This book is almost a bible to me
This book codifies the rules to be powerful as 48 laws..Robert green is from classical studies..He quotes many powerful people like machiavelli, tsun tzu,Clausewitz and many other men and women who welded enormous power in history..
Few of my favorite laws include...Assume formlessness..
Always talk less than necessary...Never comit to anyone..Etc

I think this might have been a book for me to sit and read through instead of listening to as an audiobook. The storyline and examples given for each law were interesting but to fully absorb it I should‘ve read it.

A modern day version of The Prince, the author celebrates Machiavellian rule and the extreme tactics to gain power. The book teaches people to manipulate and do whatever means necessary to get power. An example of traits to look out for in selfcenterd people to avoid.
Reading this gives a guide to what not to do in a leadership role and how history should not be repeated. These type of books are dangerous in the wrong hands. 3.5/10

This is a great book that everyone should read. In my honest opinion, this is an evil book. However, if you're not going to use it for evil you should be aware of them so that you can protect yourself from those who will use it against you.

Did I just watch The 48 Laws of Power (Animated), a 30-minute video on YouTube? Yes, and the intro. Well done.

And, holy moly, that channel also has an extended animated video for each of the 48 Laws, making for many hours of view time for this popular book! 👍

Humberto: "In this city anything can happen. This city is going to rule the world. It's the epicenter of power and opportunity. And when those two converge, you have a nuclear explosion. Power should be used with a velvet glove. That's why I'm reading this book. It's about the reason you're sitting here with me. It's about entering action with boldness. For that, you can't be a wilting flower. You have to be open to the flow of time."
